A Nigerian man who is currently residing in the United States has made shocking revelations as to why most of his fellow countrymen seeking academic opportunities in the states are not granted students visa.

In series of tweets he made with his Twitter handle @MisterNigerD, he said the key to scaling through the visa application hurdle is not giving the consular at the embassy any reason to believe that you will be staying back in the US after your studies.

@MisterNigerD stated that another huge pitfall to avoid is to say that you would be getting a job when your school is on holiday in the state. This, according to him, will get your visa application denied.

“People are mostly denied student visa cos they don’t establish enough ties to their home country . You will get questions like ‘ what are you doing after you graduate ‘ . DONT say you will be trying to get a job abroad.”

@MisterNigerD maintained that one’s dressing does not affect the visa application process just as he added that self-confidence comes in handy during the interview.

He emphasized that the overall goal during the visa application process is to send across a message to the consular that you have no intention of staying back after your studies so that you can have a successful visa application process.

“F-1 Visa is actually not that hard to get . Interview doesn’t take long and you know right there and there if you got it or not. Go with a mindset that you have NOTHING to lose . It helps with your confidence and makes you less nervous.”

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a man narrated how his friend was denied Australian visa for scholarship over what he tweeted in 2017.

@drpenking said his doctor friend was denied visa to Australia for a scholarship she won for masters in public health because of a thread she made about homosexuality in 2017. According to @drpenking, they said his friend was homophobic.

In his words:

“If you have Japa plans be mindful of what you tweet o. Today, they denied my Doctor friend VISA to Australia for a scholarship she won for Masters in Public Health because of a thread she made about Homsexuality 3 years ago (August 23, 2017).They said she is homophobic. Christ!”
