Egypt: Govt Mobilizes Army in Sinai
Egyptian authorities sent a huge number of military machinery and equipment to Sinai where armed forces continue to mobilize troops to take part in the security campaigns targeting armed groups in the area.
Around 50 tanks are on their way to Arish, a security source has said. Four Apache aircrafts arrived in the city's airport.
The forces in Sinai will be supported with rapid deployment forces, helicopters and explosives and mines experts, the source added.
Preparations are underway to raid "Al-Halal" mountain within hours to clear it of the armed men holed up in it, Ahram Gate reported a military source as saying.
The Egyptian army, in collaboration with the Interior Ministry, has begun on Wednesday morning a widespread security campaign to clear Sinai of spots where criminals take refuge and terrorist elements that executed the Rafah attack last Sunday.
