Feature: SNBN Newsletter – Volunteers Wanted & Key Updates for Dutch Citizens Abroad

Stichting Nederlanders Buiten Nederland (SNBN), the Foundation of Dutch People Abroad, has released its latest newsletter highlighting volunteer opportunities and important updates affecting Dutch citizens living outside the Netherlands.

Volunteers Wanted: Regional Roles Now Open

SNBN is currently seeking a Regional Representative (RV) for Poland and an RV Coordinator for the USA.
As a Regional Representative, volunteers act as the eyes and ears of SNBN in their country of residence, reporting issues affecting Dutch citizens and sharing SNBN information locally.

The RV Coordinator role involves coordinating regional representatives worldwide, supporting communication, organising virtual meetings, and participating in SNBN board meetings twice a year. Interested candidates can contact SNBN via [email protected] for more information.

SNBN at the Emigration Fair 2026

SNBN will once again host a booth at the Emigration Fair on 21–22 March 2026 at Jaarbeurs Utrecht. The organisation is inviting volunteers who will be in the Netherlands at the time to help staff the booth and support prospective emigrants with practical information and advice.

Call for Input: Tax Treaty Negotiations

The Dutch Ministry of Finance has requested feedback from SNBN regarding ongoing tax treaty negotiations with other countries. SNBN encourages Dutch citizens abroad to report any challenges they face under existing bilateral tax treaties. Submissions, including country of residence and personal circumstances, should be sent to [email protected] by 14 February 2026.

Keep Your Details Updated: MyRNI

The newsletter also highlights the importance of keeping address and contact details up to date through MyRNI, the Dutch government’s Non-Residents Register. Accurate information ensures continued access to essential services such as pensions, tax correspondence, voting documents, and official communications. MyRNI can be accessed using DigiD, with additional login options planned later in the year.
