\n A royal visit helped inspire a new chapter in\n Ghana\u2013Netherlands relations.\n <\/h3>\n\n

\n In April 2002, Prince Willem-Alexander and\n Princess M\u00e1xima visited Ghana and met the\n Asantehene in Kumasi during commemorations of\n the long diplomatic relationship between the\n Netherlands and the Asante Kingdom.\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n\n

\n GNBCC was established from the enthusiasm generated by\n the commemoration of centuries of uninterrupted\n diplomatic relations between Ghana’s Asante Kingdom and\n the Netherlands.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Following the 2002 royal visit, the Dutch business\n community organised a business-plan competition for\n secondary-school students. Dutch companies coached the\n finalists, while the winners received scholarships.\n The initiative renewed interest in establishing a\n Ghana\u2013Dutch business organisation.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n On 13 February 2003, the organisation was inaugurated as\n GHANECC\u2014the Ghana Netherlands Chamber of Commerce and\n Culture. The inclusion of culture reflected a belief\n that mutual respect and cultural understanding are\n essential foundations for sustainable business.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Founding participants included companies such as KLM,\n Shell, Reiss & Co., Vlisco, Sitos, Philips and Wienco.\n The organisation later expanded its membership, business\n services and institutional role.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n In 2007, GHANECC was appointed to support business\n enquiries for the Dutch Embassy and moved to Silverstar\n Tower in Airport City. In 2015, GHANECC became the\n Ghana Netherlands Business & Culture Council,\n strengthening its collaboration with the Netherlands\n Africa Business Council and expanding its support to\n members.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n\n
