Yesterday a delegation from \u2018our\u2019 Horticulture Business Platform (HBP) plus GNBCC\u2019s GM Tjalling Wiarda left for Sunyani for the 3rd so called POMBI Meeting. The POMBI Meeting brings together the different actors (NGO\u2019s and companies) which are active in horticulture and want to work on an innovative, sustainable and competitive horticulture sector. Translated by GNBCC as working on a Ghanaian horticulture sector which produces enough for the local market and able to compete with foreign imports plus able to export large quantities abroad earning much needed foreign currency.<\/p>\n
The HBP team would stay in Sunyani until Saturday due to the Sunyani Mini Fruit & Vegetable Fair which will be held today . The Fair will be officially opened by the Regional Minister Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene and will showcase at least 27 vendors from in and around Sunyani. Yesterday\u2019s programme was organised by GNBCC Member East West Seeds Knowledge Transfer\u2013 after the morning programme we went to visit a so called learning site for farmers including an input shop . This is the East West Seeds Knowledge Transfer site where we could see the different seed beds and where they make the seedlings . All in all a very interesting and learning experience.<\/p>\n
