This fourth session focused on <em>Mastering Business Finances and Pensions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event took place at Airport West Hotel from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in collaboration with Citadel Accounting Services (CAS) and People\u2019s Pension Trust (PPT). The session brought together mentees from the program, who showed up in great numbers with enthusiasm and thoughtful questions, eager for an insightful and practical learning experience, and based on the feedback received, they got exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kicking off the session, Project Manager Tracy Abbey Mensah warmly welcomed participants and led a reflective check-in on their mentorship journeys so far. Mentees shared heartfelt and positive feedback, emphasizing how transformative their mentorship experiences have been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first session was led by Mr. Kofi Polley, COO of PPT, who presented on <em>Understanding Pension Plans<\/em>. His engaging and down-to-earth delivery helped demystify pensions for participants, transforming mindsets and motivating immediate action. Many mentees downloaded the PPT app or dialed USSD Code <em>789<\/em>111# to start their pension savings journey on the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Polley\u2019s session explored the myths and realities of pensions, the Ghanaian Pension Act 2008 (Act 766), and a detailed breakdown of Tiers 1, 2, and 3. He also introduced PPT\u2019s voluntary pension scheme, which allows contributors to grow their savings through two accounts \u2014 a <em>savings account<\/em> and a <em>retirement account,<\/em> both earning interest over time. His message was clear and empowering: securing your financial future starts today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019d like to learn more about pensions and PPT\u2019s packages, watch our earlier webinar with PPT on our YouTube channel:<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/DjSMZrmLJhc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> https:\/\/youtu.be\/DjSMZrmLJhc<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on the strong foundation of financial awareness, the second session shifted focus to Financial Management, facilitated&nbsp; by Akwasi Dampson and his colleague, Catherine from Citadel Accounting Services, who guided mentees through five insightful modules \u2014 <em>Introduction to Financial Statements, The Income Statement (Profit or Loss), The Statement of Financial Position, The Cash Flow Statement,<\/em> and <em>Integration and Decision-Making.<\/em> With the theme <em>\u201cUnderstanding Key Financial Statements and Their Relevance in Decision-Making,\u201d<\/em> the facilitators broke down complex accounting concepts into simple, relatable examples.
