Last Week, Friday, 19th June 2026, The Ghana Netherlands Business & Culture Council (GNBCC) successfully held its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at The Palms by Eagles in Accra, bringing together members, partners and stakeholders to reflect on the Council\u2019s achievements, review its performance, and set the strategic direction for the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting provided members with a comprehensive overview of GNBCC\u2019s activities over the past year, highlighting the Council\u2019s continued commitment to strengthening trade, investment and business relations between Ghana and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Board Chair\u2019s Address<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The AGM commenced with opening remarks and a presentation by Dr. Kwaku Ainuson<\/strong>, the outgoing Board Chairman, who joined the meeting virtually. In his address, Dr. Ainuson reflected on the Council\u2019s progress during the past year, acknowledged the contributions of members, partners and the Secretariat, and emphasized the importance of collaboration, strong governance and continued member engagement in advancing GNBCC\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also expressed his appreciation for the support received throughout his tenure and encouraged members to continue supporting the Council as it enters a new phase of growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Report<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Members were subsequently presented with the Council\u2019s financial report by Mr. Akwasi Dampson<\/strong>, Finance & Accounts Manager at GNBCC. The presentation provided an overview of the Council\u2019s financial performance, covering income, expenditure and overall financial position during the reporting period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report offered members valuable insight into GNBCC\u2019s financial management and reaffirmed the Council\u2019s commitment to transparency, accountability and responsible stewardship of its resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Manager\u2019s Presentation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The AGM also featured a presentation by Ms. Hilde Famaey<\/strong>, General Manager of GNBCC, who highlighted the Council\u2019s key achievements, ongoing programmes and strategic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her presentation showcased the impact of GNBCC\u2019s initiatives across membership development, business support services, networking events, advocacy activities and Private Sector Development (PSD) projects. She also outlined upcoming initiatives and reaffirmed the Council\u2019s commitment to delivering greater value to members while strengthening the Ghana\u2013Netherlands business ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interactive Member Survey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A notable highlight of the meeting was the interactive member survey conducted using Mentimeter, allowing members to provide real-time feedback on GNBCC\u2019s programmes, events, communications and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey encouraged active participation and valuable discussions, reinforcing GNBCC\u2019s commitment to member engagement, transparency and continuous improvement. The feedback received will help shape future programmes and enhance the overall member experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honouring Our Outgoing Board and Welcoming New Leaders<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A key highlight of the 2026 Annual General Meeting was the formal recognition of outgoing board members and the election of new leaders to help guide the Council\u2019s next chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Council expressed its sincere appreciation to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Geoffrey Father Maison<\/strong> (Fincap Securities) \u2013 Outgoing Board Member and Finance Committee Chairperson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Their years of dedicated service, leadership and commitment have made significant contributions to the growth and governance of the Ghana Netherlands Business & Culture Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Members also warmly welcomed and confirmed the election of three new Board Members:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Alexander G. Peeters<\/strong> \u2013 General Manager, De Heus Ghana Ltd.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Eric Amoako Agyare<\/strong> \u2013 Country Representative, Solidaridad West Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Nana Asiaba Hagan<\/strong> \u2013 Head, Asian Desk, OmniBSIC Bank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Following their introductions and acceptance remarks, members voted overwhelmingly in support of the appointments, reflecting strong confidence in the incoming Board\u2019s leadership, expertise and vision for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      As GNBCC continues to strengthen business and cultural ties between Ghana and the Netherlands, the Council looks forward to the diverse experience, strategic guidance and fresh perspectives the newly elected Board Members will bring to the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our outgoing Board Members for their invaluable service and warmly congratulate the incoming Board Members on their election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Networking Cocktail<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Following the formal proceedings of the AGM, members, partners and guests gathered for an engaging networking cocktail session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The networking reception provided an opportunity for attendees to reconnect with existing contacts, establish new business relationships and explore opportunities for collaboration within the Ghana\u2013Netherlands business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      These informal interactions remain an important part of the GNBCC experience, fostering partnerships, facilitating knowledge exchange and strengthening the Council\u2019s vibrant network across industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
