The Horticulture Business Platform (HBP) proudly sponsored this year’s 14th Annual Pre-Harvest Agribusiness Conference and Exhibition, organized by Agrihouse Foundation. As part of its commitment to fostering growth in the horticulture sector, HBP secured 25 exhibition slots for its members, giving them a unique opportunity to showcase their products and services to a diverse audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Held on October 29th and 30th at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, the two-day event brought together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector. The theme for this year’s conference, “Connecting the Unconnected: Feeding the Future through Innovative and Technological Approaches,” underlined the critical role of technology in transforming the agricultural landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event featured exhibitions, discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at creating long-term market opportunities for farmers. It drew participants from across the agricultural value chain, including farmers, agribusiness professionals, input suppliers, processors, and buyers. The conference also served as a platform for HBP to strengthen its partnerships and expand its influence within the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event’s opening ceremony, a speech delivered on behalf of Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, Northern Regional Minister, underscored the region’s significant contribution to Ghana’s food security. He highlighted the challenges farmers face, such as limited access to resources, markets, and modern techniques, while encouraging the adoption of technological solutions like precision farming, mobile apps, and advanced irrigation systems to boost agricultural productivity.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture (Crops), also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the government’s commitment to increasing access to markets and finance for farmers to promote food security and sustainable agricultural development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In line with the mission to champion inclusivity, HBP led a panel discussion on \u201cThe Place of the Horticulture Industry in Feeding the Future through Technological Innovations.\u201d The session drew a diverse audience, including many individuals with disabilities, highlighting that passion for agriculture transcends physical limitations and ensuring that all voices were included in the conversation on leveraging horticultural advancements to meet future food demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HBP’s participation in the conference reflects its continued dedication to empowering its members and promoting innovative solutions within the horticulture value chain.
