The three-member committee tasked with finding the new Black Stars coach has submitted their report to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Thursday, as reported earlier by Ghanasoccernet.com.

The committee made of GFA vice-president Mark Addo, Dr Randy Abbey and Upper East Regional FA Chairman, Alhaji Salifu Zida have completed their search and submitted the report to the association for approval.

“Following the submission of the report, the next steps will include finding internal alignment with relevant stakeholders and decision making by the Executive Council before signing of the contract, official announcement and unveiling,” the GFA wrote on their website.

The committee was given 72 hours from Monday evening when Charles Akonnor was sacked and according to the GFA, they met the deadline.

With the report submitted, the GFA is expected to announce the new coach in the coming days.

Ghanasoccernet.com has learnt that the committee settled on Serbian Milovan Rajevac who is due to arrive in the country next week to start his second stint.

Rajevac was Ghana coach from August 2008 to September 2010. He guided the Black Stars to the 2010 AFCON final where the team lost to Egypt and reached the quarter-finals in the 2010 World Cup with the Black Stars and promoted a lot of youth players from the U-20 World Cup-winning squad to the national team.

He is also known for his disciplinary record with the national team.

The experienced tactician will replace CK Akonnor who was dismissed last Monday following a defeat to South Africa in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The GFA is convinced the former Qatar and Thailand gaffer is best cut for the head coach role considering his experience on the continent.

GHANAsoccernet exclusively reported two days ago that the Serbian trainer is the frontrunner to take over the vacant head coach role of the Black Stars.

Rajevac is expected to lead Ghana in the next World Cup qualification matches against Zimbabwe in a doubleheader next month.
