Men should ejaculate at least 21 times a month – study

The study looked at how ejaculation frequency over 18 years affected prostate cancer risk.

It found that men aged 20 to 29 who ejaculated 21 times or more each month were 19 percent less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than men who ejaculated less frequently, between four and seven times a month, ejaculated.

And it wasn’t just young men who saw the benefit: men between the ages of 40 and 49 who ejaculated at least 21 times a month reduced their risk of developing prostate cancer by 22 percent

More research is needed to determine what’s responsible for the link, but it could be that more frequent cleaning of the prostate by ejaculation could reduce the likelihood of tumor-causing infections developing there, noted study author Jennifer R. Rider, ScD, MPH

The study showed a dose-dependent relationship with the risk of ejaculation and prostate cancer, meaning the more you do it, the lower the risk, she said.

Ejaculating even just a few more times a month can likely bring some benefits to your prostate.

It doesn’t matter whether you orgasm with your partner or alone, you’ll see the benefits of ejaculation whether you’re having intercourse or just masturbating.
