Majid Michel is known to be very frank and says things exactly as he perceives it. He may be right or wrong but at least that is his honest opinion and confident to speak out.
In the constructive argument about the direction of Nollywood and where the industry is heading, some have suggested that the quality of movies being produced are not of the same standard as the what was being produced years back.
Although there have been improvements in respect to the film imagery, the actual story content is still much to be desired; something Majid has added his voice to and debunked the notion that he contributes to hurting the industry:
“I don’t hurt the industry. The industry hurts itself by making so many lousy movies. It’s like say Mercedes Benz deliberately put out a bad car. As an actor’it’s not about you but the audience. It’s not whether you really cry but rather whether the audience thinks you’re crying. I might make movies about killing people but that doesn’t mean I kill people.”
