The new hosts of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will be chosen on January 9, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad told AFP on Monday.
The hosting right of the tournament has been stripped from Cameroon due to serious delay after a meeting held by the Executive Committee of CAF in last month Accra.
Africa's football governing body has been studying alternative solutions for the staging of the June 15 to July 13 event after Cameroon were withdrawn as hosts due to delays with preparations and security concerns.
South Africa and Morocco have all expressed their interest in hosting the continent tournament next year.
The decision will be taken in Dakar on January 9, 2019, in Dakar after the CAF awards.
