GNBCC & Royal Netherlands Embassy at the Launch of GhanaFest Europe 2025

Yesterday, 14 August 2025, GNBCC and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands joined dignitaries, business leaders, and cultural ambassadors at the launch of GhanaFest Europe: Live in Holland Trade & Cultural Expo 2025 at the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI) in Accra.

Representing the Netherlands, Hilde Famaey, General Manager of GNBCC, and Mr. Rens Twijnstra, First Secretary and Head of Economic Affairs at the Royal Netherlands Embassy, shared a joint address highlighting the strong and evolving partnership between Ghana and the Netherlands.

In their remarks, they applauded the GhanaFest Europe organizing team for creating a platform that celebrates Ghana’s vibrant culture while opening doors for meaningful trade and investment. Scheduled for October 2025 in The Hague, the event will showcase Ghana’s cultural richness and economic potential, attracting businesses, investors, and cultural enthusiasts from across Europe.

The Netherlands and Ghana share a long-standing relationship, and both GNBCC and the Royal Netherlands Embassy reaffirmed their commitment to moving from “aid to trade,” with a sharper focus on economic partnerships that generate sustainable results for both countries.

Two priority sectors currently in focus are:

Horticulture – Leveraging Dutch expertise and Ghanaian innovation, with collaborations such as the Horticulture Business Platform, GROW24, and the upcoming Ghana–Netherlands Seed Partnership. The focus is on creating business synergies, supporting young entrepreneurs, and building future industry leaders.
Cocoa – Strengthening a sector that is central to Ghana’s economy and to Dutch imports, through sustainable practices, value addition, compliance with EU market requirements, and farmer empowerment. The strategy promotes partnerships that enhance competitiveness, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
The event promises to blend music, arts, business, and cultural exchange, fostering powerful connections between Ghana and Europe.
