PwC urges business caution, says second-half set to test economy

PwC Ghana is urging businesses to remain cautious as the economy enters the second half of 2026, warning that the strong macroeconomic performance recorded during the first half may not fully reflect underlying economic resilience.

According to PwC, favourable commodity prices have played a significant role in supporting Ghana’s recent economic performance. This means businesses should not assume that current conditions will automatically persist, particularly as external and domestic pressures continue to evolve.

The advisory underscores the importance of business resilience, prudent planning and proactive risk management as companies navigate the remainder of the year. For businesses operating in Ghana, maintaining financial discipline, monitoring market developments and preparing for potential shifts in economic conditions will be increasingly important.

The second half of 2026 could therefore prove a critical period for businesses to reassess their strategies, strengthen resilience and position themselves for both emerging risks and opportunities.
