As the HBC 2026 internship entered its third week, the focus intensified on execution and outputs. From Monday to Thursday, participants across the various host companies hit the ground running, moving from planning to action.
Teams dedicated to market access and sales at Verte Tower and Horticulture Business Platform made significant strides by sending out off-taker agreements to potential buyers and submitting formal proposal letters to key prospects. They also conducted targeted market research to validate assumptions and refine their approaches.
Simultaneously, on the digital marketing and branding side, participants tasked with enhancing the digital visibility and brand presence of Abukay took creative ownership of their business case. They curated engaging social media content and initiated brand collaborations to expand visibility and engagement. Participants in more technical roles at Holland Green Tech Ghana worked on designing user interfaces for a website that will be used by farmers to track irrigation and schedule routine maintenance.
In keeping with the HBC programme’s structure, Friday offered a step back from daily host company operations to focus on capacity building, progress reviews, and coaching. Marking a critical juncture in the programme timeline, the HBC Team conducted mid-point check-ins to evaluate the progress each team had made and address any operational bottlenecks.
To ensure that the participants’ daily efforts could be accurately measured and communicated to their host companies, the day featured an intensive training session on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks and professional reporting. This technical training was complemented by a team-building activity to improve active listening, communication, and trust among team members. The day concluded with team group coaching sessions, providing each team with the personalized guidance and motivation needed to refine their strategies moving forward by their respective team coaches.
Reflecting on the activities of Week 3, it is inspiring to witness how quickly the participants have evolved into proactive problem-solvers and valuable assets to their respective companies. As the internship advances into Week 4, we wish the participants continued focus, innovation, and the discipline to achieve their targets and further their business case solution implementations.
