The Horticulture Business Challenge (HBC) is well on its way, and we are excited to share some latest developments with you.
Applications officially opened in June, and to ensure that prospective participants had all the details they needed, we hosted a virtual Information Session on 17th July 2025. The session provided interested applicants with in-depth insights about the program, its benefits, and the application process, while also giving them the opportunity to ask questions directly.
By the close of applications at the end of July, we had received over 130 applications from a dynamic pool of tertiary students, recent graduates, and young entrepreneurs—all passionate about making a meaningful impact in Ghana’s horticulture sector. Earlier this week, we conducted interview sessions and have shortlisted 36 exceptional participants. These individuals will now move on to the Kick-Off Program—the final selection stage, where they will be grouped into teams and tasked with solving real business cases. This process will determine the final 18 participants who will progress into the main internship program starting in September.
Ahead of the main program, the selected participants will benefit from training sessions and personal & group coaching to prepare them for the realities of the horticulture business landscape and equip them to develop and implement effective solutions for their assigned companies.
Starting next week, we will be bringing you regular updates on the program’s progress. Stay tuned to all GNBCC platforms to follow this exciting journey as we work together to shape the next generation of horticulture innovators in Ghana!
