Vacancy Announcement: Teacher & Principal (Leerkracht & Directeur) – Nederlandse School Ghana, Accra

The Nederlandse School Ghana in Accra is seeking a dedicated professional for a combined role of Leerkracht (Teacher) and Directeur (Principal). The school has been providing Dutch Language and Culture (NTC) education for nearly 30 years to around 35 students, ranging from toddlers to secondary level.

Role Overview

As a Teacher, the successful candidate will prepare and deliver lessons across different age groups, support students with varying Dutch language levels, maintain development records, and organise cultural activities, excursions, and school camps.

As Principal, the role includes overseeing daily operations, advising the board on strategic policy, managing school resources, and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, including the board, international schools, and the Nederlands Onderwijs in het Buitenland (NOB).

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Dutch PABO diploma (or equivalent) and have at least five years of teaching experience, preferably in an international setting. Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, a practical hands-on approach, and solid ICT competence are required. Candidates must be eligible for a Ghanaian work and residence permit or be Ghanaian citizens.

Conditions of Employment

This is a full-time, one-year position with the possibility of extension. The package includes a net monthly salary of approximately €1,500, housing near the school, health insurance, and an annual return ticket to the Netherlands. Support will be provided with work and residence permit arrangements.
