We’re Hiring: Program Officer – Business Seed Partnership (BSP)

The GNBCC is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Program Officer to support the implementation of the Business Seed Partnership.

In this role, you will work closely with the Program Manager to coordinate project activities, support planning and execution, monitor progress, and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time. You will also engage with key stakeholders and partners involved in the project.

About the Business Seed Partnership (BSP)

The Business Seed Partnership is a three-year initiative designed to address key challenges within Ghana’s vegetable seed sector. The project builds on the successes of the horticulture Combi/PADEO track and leverages growing interest from Dutch seed companies in hybrid varieties. It also draws on the expertise of knowledge institutions and sector organisations.

BSP is aligned with and reinforces existing initiatives such as POMBI and the Agricultural Working Group.

Overall, the project seeks to enhance the performance, sustainability, and resilience of vegetable farming systems in Ghana through a holistic approach. This includes addressing productivity gaps, regulatory challenges, knowledge sharing, and investment needs. The project brings together key stakeholders including farmers, government institutions, research bodies, seed companies, nurseries, and distributors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of program activities under the Business Seed Partnership
  • Support engagement with project partners as assigned by the Program Manager
  • Coordinate work packages among partners to ensure project targets are achieved
  • Conduct monitoring visits and prepare written reports
  • Support promotion of BSP events and activities across digital and social media platforms
  • Assist in organising and participating in BSP events and activities
  • Support meeting organisation, including preparation of agendas and taking minutes
  • Assist in preparing project reports based on BSP activities and events

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in project implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and management skills
  • Experience or skills in social media marketing is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
