March In Review: Events, Engagements & Key Updates

The GNBCC has been highly focused on the Private Sector Development programme in collaboration with the Netherlands Embassy. On the 19th of March, we launched the latest cohort of the Horticulture Business Challenge. Out of over 300 applicants, a select group of outstanding young graduates was chosen to work on real-world business cases with established companies. This two-month intensive programme bridges the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs, embedding youth talent directly into the horticulture value chain.

The team is actively preparing for the next Private Sector Development programme, expected to kick off in July 2026. The overall aim is to impact companies, women, and youth active in horticulture over the next four years.

The National Seed System Reset

On March 16th and 17th, the GNBCC co-hosted the Seed Round Table at WACCI, a critical platform for stakeholders in the seed sector. This event brought together public and private actors to discuss pathways for strengthening the domestic seed ecosystem. Key discussions centred on improving the enabling environment and aligning with initiatives like the Ghana Seed Partnership to ensure long-term sector resilience.

The Joint Business Breakfast Meeting

The highlight of the month was our Breakfast Meeting on the Investment Climate, held in collaboration with EuroCham and our European partners: GBBC (Belgian Chamber), CCI France, and AHK (German Chamber). This event provided an enhanced networking platform where members engaged directly with policy experts on the investment landscape, the tax regime, and macroeconomic indicators. It successfully sparked a dialogue between the private sector and institutional representatives, allowing members to voice concerns and gain insights into Ghana’s economic trajectory.

Introduction of the Industry Spotlight: Tax

We are pleased to introduce a new section to our newsletter: “Industry Spotlight.” For this first edition, we feature a dedicated Tax Focus to help our members navigate Ghana’s evolving fiscal landscape.
