Job Summary:
The Project Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of GNBCC’s Women in Business (WIB) and the Horticulture Business Challenge (HBC) projects. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, providing operational and administrative support to ensure effective project delivery in line with donor requirements and organisational objectives.
Project Description:
The WIB and HBC projects are implemented under GNBCC’s Private Sector Development (PSD) programme, with support from the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana.
The Women in Business project is a mentorship and capacity-building initiative that supports female-led SMEs by connecting them with experienced business leaders to strengthen business growth, access to markets and operational capacity.
The Horticulture Business Challenge is an internship program that places recent graduates and young professionals into horticulture companies, where they work in teams to solve real-world business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Coordination
- Support the day-to-day implementation of the Women in Business and Horticulture Business Challenge projects.
- Assist in coordinating training sessions, mentorship activities, workshops, internships, and other project events.
- Support participant onboarding, engagement, and follow-up across both projects.
- Maintain accurate participant records, attendance lists, and activity documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Support coordination with SMEs, mentors, coaches, facilitators, and other project partners.
Administration & Documentation
- Support project administration, including scheduling, logistics, procurement requests, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain organised digital and physical project files in line with organisational standards.
- Assist in drafting routine correspondence, reports, and internal updates.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Support
- Support data collection for monitoring project outputs and outcomes, including surveys, feedback forms, and activity reports.
- Assist in compiling internal reports by providing accurate data, narratives, and supporting documentation.
Financial & Compliance Support
- Support basic project finance administration, including tracking expenses and preparing payment requests.
- Support budget tracking and flag variances.
Cross-Project Support
- Provide ad-hoc support to other Private Sector Development initiatives as required.
- Contribute to lessons learned, project improvements, and documentation of best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Development Studies, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Recent Graduate
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
